(Floating Landscapes: a fragment of Chile’s geography)。

Francisca Eluchans

We are happy to announce our next exhibition by Chilean installation artist Francisca Eluchans, titled Floating Landscapes: a Fragment of Chile's Geography will open on 21st September. Attracted by the topography, materials and different volumes that are found in Chile's geography and landscapes, the artist registers different spaces through her camera lens. The work of Francisca Eluchans is focused on the transformation from traditional photography into new media, working mainly with three-dimensional art, sculpture and installation art.

In the exhibition Floating Landscapes: a Fragment of Chile's Geography, the artist works with a new idea of the landscape by building geographical-shaped sculptures from her own photography work.

The landscape is, first of all, an idea, a mental projection that we want to materialize and preserve. Eluchans works on the concept of territory and what is it that we understand by the landscape. The artist poses a hypothesis that not all territory equals to the landscape - it is through the viewer’s experience that then it is transformed into such.

Eluchans'work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions in cities such as Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City, and this will be the first time it is shown in China.

Come to join us on September 21st for the opening night - the artist will be present to discuss her work with the audience.
